Brief Description

LThe project 16+ addresses the priorities of the programme Socrates - Grundtvig II and it concerns the preparation of young adults over 16 living under foster care to enter in the open society after they become of age to leave the foster environment. The project is centered towards the analysis of the problem with the participation of groups belonging to the above category as well as social workers who are responsible for their welfare from the participating countries. It also aims to encourage them to share ideas and practices targeting the smooth induction of the foster children to the adult society.

The partners from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Spain and Lithuania will promote the program aims by developing training tools and, with the consent of and the cooperation of the welfare Authorities as it is necessary for each country, using them to teach the young foster children on the following subjects:

  • Preparation of a CV
  • Cohabitation and household operation
  • Use of the internet for chatting and seeking of friends and collaborators from other countries.


  • At the final phase of the programme it is aimed to develop ways for dissemination of the results to other groups phasing social exclusion.
